From Swan River, Manitoba, Fisher Lavell is a working-class writer of stories and essays. She has published fiction and life story in Prairie Fire and Zygote, is a contributor to The Illusion of Inclusion; Women in Post-secondary Education, and presented on Counselling For Working-class at the Working Class Studies Association conference in Chicago last year. With other panel members, Fisher spoke passionately about Writing From the Margins at the Manitoba Writing Symposium this Spring. She is currently working on her first novel, Roaring River Woman. Fisher loves stories, loves the prairie, loves to walk the lonely road. Her elderly dog Xena has gone home.
